Basketball SA is excited to announce the head coaches for the 2022 High Performance Program State Team, we have some familiar faces as well as a couple new faces. We are excited for the 2022 High Performance Program to get underway!

MEET YOUR 2022 HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM STATE TEAM STAFF
SA Under 20 Women
Team A – HEAD COACH | Marcus Wong
Marcus has been involved in High Performance for many years across many different levels. He has previously been the Head Coach of the SA Metro Under 16 Girls and last year’s SA Under 20 Women. He has been the assistant coach for Adelaide Lightning for 5 years and has also coached the Sturt Sabres NBL1 Women, leading them to 3 NBL1 Championships.
Team B – HEAD COACH | Georgia Crouch
Georgia has been involved in the High Performance Program since 2015 as an assistant coach and also as head coach of the SA Under 20 Women Blue team in 2020. Georgia is currently the assistant coach with Forestville NBL1 Women as well as Reserves Head Coach.

SA Under 20 Men
Team A – HEAD COACH | David Cooper
David returns for his third year as SA Under 20 Men head coach after a bronze medal in 2021. In a long professional playing career, he played over 200 NBL games before turning to coaching and leading the Norwood Flames to NBL1 Men’s Championship in 2015.
Team B – HEAD COACH | Ryan Vivian
Ryan has been in the High Performance program since 2016. In 2021 Ryan coached the Under 20 Men’s Blue Team to an 8th placing out of 12 teams. He has previously been an assistant coach for Under 16 and 18 SA Metro Boys. Ryan is currently the Under 14 Boys Division 1 Head Coach at North Adelaide.
SA Metro Under 18 Girls
Katherine returns as the SA Metro U18 Girls Head Coach after leading the 2020 team to an historic first gold medal in 31 years. She was an assistant coach in the age group from 2012-2014 and in 2020. Katherine has had a long and successful junior coaching career at Sturt.
SA Metro Under 18 Boys
Jarrod returns as the SA Metro Under 18 Men’s Head Coach for his third year. His 2019 team brought home the silver medal. He has been the assistant coach for SA Metro Under 16 Boys for 5 years and with the Under 18 Boys for 2 years. Jarrod has had a long and successful coaching career with both Sturt and his first and current club South Adelaide.
SA Metro Under 16 Girls
Tom has coached at Forestville for the past 11 years and has won multiple winter and State Championships. He has been the assistant coach for NBL1 Forestville Men for 5 years and had 3 grand final appearances and 2 championships in 2019 and 2020. Tom has been an SA Metro assistant coach for 6 years, bringing home 1 gold medal (2021) and 2 silver medals (2015, 2016).
SA Metro Under 16 Boys
Alex returns as for his third year as the Head Coach for the Under 16 SA Metro Boys. In 2019 he led his first team to a bronze medal. He has previously been the assistant coach for Under 16 SA Metro Boys for multiple years and SA U20 Men’s team which won a gold medal in 2016. Alex has won multiple State Championships with the Sturt Sabres, where he has been coaching for over 10 years at all levels.
