REGISTRATION

All players, coaches and officials must be registered with Basketball South Australia to participate in a competition managed by Basketball SA or one of its members

Basketball South Australia use the Sports TG registration platform. Registration is required before you play your first game in order to be covered by insurance. Basketball SA works with a 365 registration period, meaning registration will be due to be renewed in 365 days

Competition Registration Processes

The Basketball SA registration fee for players is an annual aggregate that incorporates:

  • Basketball SA Affiliation (component varies across member/competition groups)
  • Insurance premium
  • Basketball Australia Affiliation

Coaches must register, however there is no fee applicable. Officials must register and pay the annual membership fee applicable to the competition(s) they intend to officiate in. Officials and coaches must include evidence of their Working with Children Check at the time of registration.

The Basketball SA registration fee is separate to any fees applicable for individual club membership/registration, Association registration, game/match fees, spectator fees, training fees, or other fees as determined by your club/association from time to time.

The registration process allows Basketball SA to:

  • monitor the age, gender and geographical profile of people playing the sport
  • ensure adherence to age group criteria
  • facilitate movement between clubs
  • confirm insurance eligibility
  • confirm match eligibility – competitions using Stadium Scoring will not be able to include un-registered players on the scoresheet.

Players participating in multiple competitions must register in each competition but will only be required to pay the Basketball SA registration fee once in each registration period. NB: Top-up fees may be applicable depending on the Basketball SA affiliation component paid
