Basketball South Australia (Basketball SA) advises that Chief Executive Officer Ben MacCormack has notified the Basketball SA Commission of his difficult decision to resign from his position due to personal reasons. 

Ben will remain in the role until the latter part of 2026, supporting a planned transition and continuing to lead the organisation during this period. 

Basketball SA Chair James Kitching acknowledged Ben’s contribution to Basketball SA and thanked him for his leadership. 

“On behalf of the Basketball SA Commission, we sincerely thank Ben for his leadership and contribution to Basketball SA,” Kitching said. 

“During his time as CEO, Ben has already played an important role in progressing the organisation and supporting the continued growth and development of basketball across South Australia. 

“We are confident that Ben will leave the organisation in a strong position and appreciate his commitment to supporting Basketball SA through the transition.” 

The Basketball SA have commenced a recruitment process for this critical leadership role within a sport and state that has strong foundations and an exciting future.
