Basketball SA’s Wheelchair Basketball competition provides an inclusive and welcoming opportunity for people of all abilities to get involved in the game.
Wheelchair Basketball is open to players with and without disability, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the sport, develop their skills, stay active and be part of a fun and social basketball community.
Players register individually, rather than as part of a team, with teams formed ahead of the season through a player draft.
2026 Player Draft
The player draft will take place on Tuesday, 22 September, with registered players allocated to teams for the upcoming season.
Whether you are an experienced player or completely new to wheelchair basketball, everyone is encouraged to register.
Not sure if wheelchair basketball is for you? Come down and give it a go before committing to the competition.
Basketball SA runs a free Come & Try session every Tuesday (starting 22nd September) from 5:00pm–6:00pm, before the evening’s wheelchair basketball games.
The sessions are a great opportunity to learn the basics, get comfortable using a sports wheelchair and experience wheelchair basketball in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
No previous wheelchair basketball experience is required, and participants do not need to have a disability to take part.
