NBL1 Men’s Coach
A rare opportunity has arisen at Central District Basketball Club to fill the role of NBL1 Men’s coach for our season in 2022 and beyond. Our Men have taken great steps forward in 2021, narrowly missing a finals spot, now we want to finish the job!
What are we looking for in our coach?
A basketball coach with a desire to coach and succeed at the highest club level in South Australia, with exposure on a national stage.

  • Experience coaching at NBL1 / Premier League /state representation level or higher
  • Someone with a deep interest in club culture and development with a willingness to work with Junior Development and High Performance groups.
  • Ability to recruit, retain and engage players and build into successful teams
  • A belief in and willingness to actively participate in pathway succession in a club environment.
  • Be well connected in the Basketball community.
  • Strong and clear communication skills allowing communication with a diverse group of individuals

General Manager 

South Adelaide Basketball Club (SABC) is a vibrant community club based at Marion, Adelaide. With over 800 active players across juniors and senior teams, fielding teams in both District and domestic competitions. Our purpose is to inspire our members to  play and love Basketball, with the desire to be No. 1 in all formats, produce the best players, coaches and experience for our members in the community.

As General Manager you will manage all operations of SABC whilst being focused on creating a positive and engaging environment for our sport participants and club community. You will champion the SABC.

To be considered for this exciting position, you will ideally possess and demonstrate sound sport experience, knowledge and/or tertiary qualifications relevant to the position (such as sport, business, or management experience) as well as, well-developed communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills, including an ability to work both autonomously and within a team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistent high-quality service to all members, community and guests
  • Mentor our Coaches with specialist knowledge and experience
  • Assist in developing and implementing S.A.B.C Basketball programmes
  • Produce and deliver our club’s strategic plans with the elected committee
  • Manage compliance with all business, governance and legislative requirements
  • Develop operational plans inclusive of coaching, programs and facility development
  • Report on all financial performance to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the administration and implementation on all club policies and duties
  • Develop excellent relationship, leadership, and stakeholder engagement
  • Build on the growth and retention of memberships, employee and volunteers
  • Manage the delivery of Season/Session plans across all grades
  • Manage communication and engagement processes regarding Covid-19 or any changes in the business.
  • Liaise with volunteering support staff to deliver a co-ordinated programme.

To be successful you will:

  • Tertiary education in Business, Commerce or Management or similar
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and people management skills; ability to establish an effective working relationship with staff, membership, volunteers and elected management committee
  • Critical thinking skills to balance the needs of our team members and organisational objectives
  • Working knowledge of the strong regulatory compliance required in managing a club
  • Capability for strategic thinking and implementation of strategic and operational plans
  • Previous experience in managing a large administration, sports administration or membership-driven organisation
  • Demonstrated administration skills with a high level of attention to detail, planning & organisation.

Your skills:

  • Highly developed leadership and presentation capabilities
  • Exceptional execution, planning and organising skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders and be a trusted advisor
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Ability to work autonomously, take accountability and be solution-focussed.

NBL1 Central Women’s Head Coaching Position

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced coach to lead our NBL1 Central Women’s program for the 2021/2022 NBL1 Central season.

The club has a long history of player and coach development with numerous coaches and players moving into National League Programs and USA colleges. Our senior teams have always maintained a high level of success whilst ensuring a pathway for our junior players is maintained.

You will be responsible for managing the NBL1 Women’s team together with the clubs Reserve and Under 23 Division 1 teams. The head coach will work with the General Manager and the Sturt Sabres management committee.
