Finance Manager 

Basketball SA is currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Manager works closely with the Finance Officer and has responsibility for the overall day to day financial operations of BSA, including forecasting, statutory governance, risk management, asset and property management and procurement.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a competent, professional team in a varied and challenging environment. 

The responsibilities of the Finance Manager include:

  • Prepare timely monthly financial management reports including departmental P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statements
  • Prepare yearly departmental budget forecasts and capital expenditure budgets
  • Financial and administrative performances of each Basketball SA Business Unit including monthly actual to budget variance
  • Oversee fortnightly staff and salary payments, superannuation payments, tax compliance
  • Manage creditors and debtors with the assistance of the Finance Officer
  • Prepare annual financial statements for Basketball SA
  • Liaise with Auditor to complete yearly audit requirements
  • Prepare annual statutory reconciliations and ensure full compliance with current Accounting standards.
  • Maintain association asset register
  • Provide technical accounting advice to ensure staff act consistently within key financial governance policies
  • Ensure grant acquittals are undertaken as required

The successful applicant will have the ability to identify process improvements, streamline data collection and reporting. 

Candidates require tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance and CPA/CA membership. 

The role is hands-on and will require some data entry during peak periods and some out of hours work to attend board meetings and adhoc events as required.

NBL1 Men’s Coach
A rare opportunity has arisen at Central District Basketball Club to fill the role of NBL1 Men’s coach for our season in 2022 and beyond. Our Men have taken great steps forward in 2021, narrowly missing a finals spot, now we want to finish the job!
What are we looking for in our coach?
A basketball coach with a desire to coach and succeed at the highest club level in South Australia, with exposure on a national stage.

  • Experience coaching at NBL1 / Premier League /state representation level or higher
  • Someone with a deep interest in club culture and development with a willingness to work with Junior Development and High Performance groups.
  • Ability to recruit, retain and engage players and build into successful teams
  • A belief in and willingness to actively participate in pathway succession in a club environment.
  • Be well connected in the Basketball community.
  • Strong and clear communication skills allowing communication with a diverse group of individuals

The Forestville Eagles Basketball Club are seeking written applications for the following position

The Forestville Eagles Basketball Club has been one of the most successful clubs competing in the South Australian Premier League/NBL1 Central over the past 20 years having won a combined 13 women’s and men’s titles over that period and 17 in its 65-year history. 

We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced coaches.

Your mission is to maintain

  1. the significant successes achieved over the past 20 years;

  2. a strong, positive transition from juniors to senior level; and

  3. a close relationship between NBL1 Central players and our junior teams.

You will manage your program within the club’s NBL1 Central budget and comply with all directions from the Forestville Eagles Board.

The Head Coach position covers direct coaching responsibilities for the NBL1 Central team as well as overseeing the Basketball SA Reserves program.

Reporting to the Forestville Eagles Board and working closely with the Club General Manager and Basketball Operations Vice President you will continue to develop Forestville juniors to form the majority of your team/squad now and into the future.

Junior Development Officer


The Southern Tigers Basketball Association is a basketball club in the South of Adelaide with a proud history in South Australian basketball and we are looking for a Junior Development Officer to join our team. The Junior Development Officer is a critical role in supporting the development of our junior coaches and players as well as building a junior basketball style of play across all age groups.

The role of the Junior Development Officer, has the primary responsibility of leading the Junior basketball program at Southern Tigers, with critical accountabilities being to:

  • Recruit where needed & develop our coaches

  • Work with coaches (from NBL1 down to U10’s) to develop and implement a style of

    play from under 10’s through to under 18’s that encourages player development within a team structure and that allows coaches to adapt and cater to the strengths of their individual teams

  • Drive player development through assisting age group coaches to deliver high quality training that assists in both player and team development

  • Develop and deliver skill development sessions that provide additional opportunity for skill development for our players outside of regular squad training each week

  • Lead community engagement programs that drive enquiries about playing basketball at Southern Tigers like school holiday clinics, clinics at schools in the Southern Tigers catchment area

  • Oversee the expansion of the Tiger Cubs and Development academy programs

  • Assist with the expansion of participation in Domestic basketball at Southern Tigers

    by working with the Domestic Coordinator to leverage our community engagement

    activities to drive increased participation in Domestic basketball

  • Represent Southern Tigers as a key stakeholder in Junior Basketball in South

    Australia, through, where required, providing feedback and driving innovation in

    working with other Basketball SA clubs and Junior Development Officers

  • Engage with our members (players & parents) to ensure key items of interest are

    well communicated to our member base as well as working with our members to foster a highly engaged basketball community at Southern Tigers

  • Have experience coaching junior basketball at a high level and have a demonstrated track recording in developing players and coaches in a high performance environment

  • Possess high level communication and interpersonal skills

  • Have the ability to identify, upskill and mentor other coaches

NBL1 Coaching in 2022


The Southern Tigers Basketball Association is a Basketball Club in the South of Adelaide with a proud history in South Australian basketball. We are now looking for a Head Coach of our NBL1 Men’s Basketball team. Or NBL1 teams compete in the NBL1 Central Conference, South Australia’s elite basketball competition.

The role of Head Coach of our Men’s program, has the primary responsibility of leading the NBL1 program with critical accountabilities being:

  • Player recruitment, style of play implementation & NBL1 player development

  • Assistant coach recruitment, appointment and development

  • Game-day Head Coaching responsibilities

  • Develop the culture of the NBL1 Men’s squad to foster a team first, high performing

    and motivated environment for players to be their best

  • Working with the NBL1 Women’s coaching team to ensure the NBL1 program on

    the whole is an active part of the Southern Tigers junior basketball community

  • Lead the coaching staff in game night preparations, scouting opposition teams and

    preparing our players to perform at their best.


Additionally, the successful applicant will:

  • Oversee the NBL1 Reserves and our Youth League programs, ensuring players transition successfully from Junior team representation through to youth League and Senior basketball

  • Work with their networks to implement suitable fitness and training programs for NBL1 basketball, focused on extending and developing our players

  • Assist the Junior Development Officer with the development of the Junior Club style of play to ensure our Junior basketballers are developing the necessary skills and understanding of the game to succeed as they move to older age groups

  • Manage the NBL1 Program within budget as agreed with the Executive Committee


Desired skills and qualifications include:

  • Experience coaching at an NBL1, State or equivalent Elite Level

  • Proven results in player development

  • High level communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to identify, upskill and mentor other coaches
