Basketball South Australia Coaching Courses
We value the role that coaches play in our great game. We offer the following courses to assist with coach development at every level.

Cost: Free
Duration: 3 hours (online)
Minimum Age: None
Eligibility: Beginner coach or anyone wanting to learn more about the basics
Course Objective: To help beginner coaches run a successful practice session focused on skill development and tips for game day coaching

Cost: $150
Duration: 3 hours (online), 6 hours in person
Age Minimum: None
Eligibility: Must have completed Community Coach Course or have coached district/association basketball (or equivalent) for 3+ years. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available and assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Course Objective: To help coaches understand modern coaching techniques and concepts at a District Club level.

Cost: $250
Duration: 12 hours (in person)
Age Minimum: 18 years old
Eligibility: Must have completed Club Coach Course or have coached metro/district league basketball (or equivalent) for 5+ years. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available and assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Course Objective: To help coaches understand modern coaching concepts and techniques at a State and NBL1 level.

Cost: $400
Duration: 17 hours (in person)
Age Minimum: 18 years old
Eligibility: Must have completed Association Coach Course and have coached district/association basketball (or equivalent) for 8+ years or played/coached professionally for 3+ years. Coaches will need to apply via EOI (Expression of Interest) as limited spots will be available. Please note that this course is run every 3 years (last one was held March 2022).
Course Objective: To help coaches understand modern coaching concepts and techniques at a Professional and International level.

The Master Coach accreditation is an Honorary accreditation bestowed by Basketball Australia on Coaches with significant achievements at an international level.
