MSBL MASTERS

MSBL Masters 45+ 60+ and 70+

Social, competitive basketball for Women and Men aged 45 years and over

MSBL Masters is a welcoming basketball community for men aged 68 years and over who want to stay active, enjoy friendly competition and reconnect with the game they love.

Whether you played basketball decades ago or have never stopped playing, our competition provides an inclusive environment where fitness, friendship and fun come first.

It's never too late to get back on the court

Many MSBL Maters players have returned to basketball after 20, 30 or even 40 years away from the game. Others have played throughout their lives. The competition is designed to help older Australians stay physically active, maintain mobility and enjoy the social benefits of regular team sport. Players support one another both on and off the court, creating a community built around respect, encouragement and enjoyment.

MSBL Masters is a social basketball competition for players aged 45 years and over who want to continue playing the game in a structured, enjoyable and semi-competitive environment.

Whether you’re returning to basketball or have played for years, MSBL Masters offers a welcoming community where players can stay active, enjoy friendly competition and connect with others who share a passion for the game.

No. Current players range from approximately 45 to 87 years of age, and many started playing again after decades away from basketball.

Most new players begin with varying fitness levels. Training and games help improve strength, mobility and endurance over time, and substitutions allow players to manage their workload.

Many current players have had joint replacements or other physical limitations and continue to enjoy basketball by playing within their own capabilities.

Players enjoy competing, but the emphasis is on participation, enjoyment and supporting each other rather than simply winning games.
