SA Under 20 Men and Women State Performance Program (SPP) squads have been announced following High Performance Program trials in October. After the next practice block, teams will be selected for the Australian Under 20 Junior Championships (AJC) in April.
SA Metro Under 16 and Under 18 State Performance Program (SPP) squads will be selected following the Adelaide Invitational Challenge (AIC) in January 2022. After this tournament, teams / squads will be selected for the Australian Under 18 and 16 Junior Championships (AJC) in April and July 2022.

The State Performance Program is a team-based program, designed to develop State identified athletes for optimal performance (now and in the future) at national level competition, technically, tactically, mentally and athletically as well as enhancing their prospects of future selection in the National Performance Program.
The program is overseen by Basketball SA’s State Player and Coach Performance Manager and SA Country’s High-Performance Player and Coach Development Officer. The program is delivered in both Metro and Country areas with some sessions involving both Metro and Country athletes.
When delivered by Basketball SA and SA Country High-Performance coaches, the program focusses on South Australia Style of Play with the goal of optimising long-term athlete development.
When delivered by appointed State team coaches, the program focussed on each team’s system of play for optimal performance at Australian Junior Championships.

On court sessions are led by the BSA and SA Country High-Performance coaches and appointed State team coaches. Athletic Development sessions will be led by staff from University of SA. Appointed team medical staff, in conjunction with the Head of Medical Services, oversee player load and wellbeing via the OwnUrGoal app.
