Basketball South Australia is proud to announce the launch of the 2026 South Australian Referee Development Program (SARDP), following the outstanding success of the 2025 program. This statewide initiative continues to strengthen pathways for officials by bringing together referees from both Metropolitan and Country regions for a year of targeted development, mentoring, and on‑court learning opportunities.

In 2025, SARDP delivered significant growth for its participants, offering enhanced exposure to higher-level games, personalised feedback opportunities, and improved alignment between Metro and Country officiating systems. Building on that success, the 2026 program will further expand its focus on developing confident, capable referees who can contribute to the sport at every level—from grassroots competitions through to state performance pathways.

The referees selected for the 2026 SARDP represent a diverse and dedicated group of officials who have demonstrated strong commitment to refereeing. Throughout the year, participants will engage in workshops, game-day coaching, structured reviews, and tailored learning designed to accelerate their development both on and off the court.

The program continues to serve as a crucial bridge for referees looking to advance into higher-level competitions, including NBL1 Central, state events, and national pathway opportunities.

Experienced Mentors Supporting 2026 Participants

Basketball SA is pleased to confirm the mentors who will guide and support this year’s SARDP referees:

These highly respected officials bring extensive experience from state, national, and high-performance officiating environments. Their leadership ensures participants receive high-quality coaching, consistent feedback, and strong support throughout the program. Basketball SA extends its sincere thanks to each mentor for their time, expertise, and dedication to developing the next generation of South Australian referees.

We congratulate all selected referees and look forward to seeing them continue their officiating journey through the SARDP. Basketball SA remains committed to fostering referee development and empowering all South Australian officials, ensuring a strong foundation for the future of basketball across the state.
