The Basketball South Australia Council represents members groups at General Meetings of Basketball South Australia (including the AGM)
The Council comprises representatives from the following member groups; Basketball Adelaide, SA Country Basketball, SA Church Basketball Association & Recreation Centres (not applicable at this current time) as well as non-voting membership groups. The Member groups elect Councillors to represent them prior to the Annual General Meeting each year
The Basketball South Australia Commission consists of seven independent commissioner position elected by the members through the Council. Commissioners hold a voluntary position and are appointed based on a professional skill set required to effectively govern the sport. The Commission provides leadership, vision, and direction in setting the organisations goals, objectives, strategy, and policy. The extent of the Commission’s decision-making authority is detailed in the Basketball South Australia Constitution.
Committees are sub-committee of the Commission, designed to support the work of the Commission. Each Committee will include a Commissioner and Senior staff member to ensure information is passed between Basketball South Australia, the Committee, and the Commission.
Working Groups are designed to support the work of Basketball South Australia. Each Working Group will include the appropriate Senior Staff member based on the portfolio of the group.

Appointment of Independent Commissioners
Amend the Constitution (by Special Resolution)
Consider Annual Report and accounts
The Commission meet regularly with the Council to disseminate information between member groups and the Commission.
